Alan Roberson serves as the Vice President of Oak Ridge Strategies Group, Inc. (ORSG), a Small Disabled Veteran Owned (SDVO) company specializing in technology discovery, exploitation of disruptive technologies, customer relationship development, and strategic planning. In this capacity, he is responsible for identifying and creating strategic alliances and partnerships in both public and private sectors. Mr. Roberson identifies teaming and integration opportunities with federal agencies, corporations, international educational intuitions, and other operational to strategic emerging requirements our clients could ably fulfill.

After retiring as a Colonel in the United States Army, he was Senior Director, Strategic Initiatives at the National Defense University. In this position, Mr. Roberson established domestic and international relationships with military educational institutions across the globe. This partnership disseminated US and international research findings that enhanced the strategic and operational capability of each country and its ability to respond to global requirements and national security. Most importantly, this special relationship improved their military and government’s transformation into a world-wide interoperable team.

His last active duty military assignment was Chief of Staff, Africa Center for Strategic Studies. In this position, he assisted the Director and staff through their educational programs and research, to promote democracy and assist African nations in improving their security by promoting good governance, security sector professionalism, and democratic civil-military relations.

During his 29 years of distinguished military service, he served in operational assignments in Afghanistan, Bosnia, and Germany. His most recent combat assignment was as the Chief of Staff, Coalition Joint Task Force – 82, Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan. Colonel Roberson commanded an air cavalry squadron, 2nd Squadron 17th Cavalry, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Kentucky and a tactical aviation brigade, 82nd Aviation Brigade, 82nd Airborne Division, at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. His principal staff assignments have been as an Executive Officer to the Assistant Secretary of the Army (Manpower and Reserve Affairs); and Executive Officer for Policy and Strategy (J-5), Joint Staff.

Mr. Roberson is a graduate of Appalachian State University, Webster University (MS), and the Army War College.
